Add a device
Bring a device under Anywhere AI
Before you can connect to a device you register it once. The Add device wizard starts by asking “How do you want to connect to a device?” and then guides you through the right steps for your case. It is a multi-step flow that shows your progress as you move from screen to screen.
Adding a device counts toward the device limit of your plan. If you try to add one more device than your plan allows, Anywhere AI sends you to upgrade your licence — see Licence & billing. Adding a device that another user shared with you may also require you to sign in first.
Choose an installation type
On the first screen you pick how the device should be connected. The options are grouped on screen in this order:
- Existing device — connect a Mac, Windows or Linux machine you already use by selecting its operating system and running the installer for that platform.
- New device — set up fresh hardware, either from a downloaded installer or from a bespoke image built for a single-board computer or a server/desktop.
- Docker container — set up a new Docker container that connects to Anywhere AI automatically.
- Shared device — connect a device owned and administered by another user, using the API-Key and API-Secret they gave you instead of installing anything.
