Automation

Pick a compatible device and install the Smart Automation platform on it to run scheduled, self-driving tasks with Anywhere AI.

Automation

Let your devices work on their own

The Automation area is where you let a device carry out work on its own, without you having to drive it by hand. You start by choosing one of your compatible devices, then install the Smart Automation platform on it and create your automation projects there. The platform runs the projects on a schedule and reports back its results.

What this view does

  • Choose a device — the Automation view shows a grid of your compatible devices as cards. Only full computers are eligible; system-on-a-chip (SoC) boards cannot run the platform and are not offered. If you have no eligible device yet, an empty state prompts you to add a compatible one.
  • AI provider is required — a panel shows the configured AI provider (Claude CLI or Gemini CLI). If no key is set you get an "AI key required" notice with a Setup button. Automation cannot run without a Claude or Gemini API key.
  • Recent projects — a history of the Smart Automation projects you opened most recently, with the device name, project name and when it was last opened, so you can jump straight back in.

Set your AI provider key under Account → Integrations before you start.

Set up automation on a device

  1. Select Automation in the left-hand menu.
  2. Make sure an AI provider key (Claude or Gemini) is configured — if the "AI key required" notice is shown, use the Setup button, or set it under Account → Integrations.
  3. Pick a compatible device from the grid and open it.
  4. Install the Smart Automation platform on the device if it is not installed yet — see Smart Automation.
  5. Create and manage your automation projects on the device.

The number of projects you can run depends on your plan; see Licence & billing.
